Bringing history and future together

Humber's Mill takes its name from a windmill on a 1695 map of the local area.

As a coastal lowland, the Isle of Thanet was home to a number of windmills, and Humber’s Mill was located on the site where the new neighbourhood will be created.

Windmills are an early example of the use of a renewable energy source and we are taking inspiration from Thanet’s connection to these structures as we look to link the sustainability of the past to the future.
